The Drvo Art Technical School organizes the international creative workshop Design Playground for the seventh time. Along with the host school, the event will be attended by secondary school pupils from partner schools from the European Union and Belgrade design schools. The workshop will be held at the Drvo Art School on March 2–6, 2015. During the workshop, participants will make prototypes on a predefined theme using limited quantities of materials. The theme of this year’s workshop is A Standing Shelf. This time, participants in the workshop will have an opportunity to try themselves in combining traditional and new materials, i.e. wood and Rehau Vision materials. The works created during the workshop will be exhibited at the Museum of Applied Art between March 6 and March 14, 2015. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday March 6, at 6 PM.

All previous workshops were very successful and works made during them were exhibited at numerous important design-related events (Belgrade Design Week, Mixer, Belgrade Furniture Fair), as well as in prestigious galleries, museums and cultural institutions. Since 2012, the creative works of the students of the Drvo Art School and their mates from Europe have been available to an international audience. The creations of young designers were also presented at the most prestigious international design-related events, such as the International Furniture Fair in Milam, or the Milan Design Week and the Fair of Industrial Design in Madrid. This year, the works made during the last year’s workshop will be presented at the International Furniture Fair in Singapore (March 13–16, 2015) and the INTERZUM Fair in Cologne (May 5–8, 2015) upon invitation by the German company Rehau, which has donated materials for prototypes.
