The Signs of Life: Architecture around Us…

Organised by the Museum of Applied Art
The 33rd Salon of Architecture, having for its motto The Signs of Life: Architecture around Us… will be staged in the Museum of Applied Art from 24th March to 30th April 2011. This popular exhibition, which ranks among important Belgrade events, is aimed at promotion of both high quality architecture and architects from the country and abroad.

Our special guest Randić – Turato, architecture team from Rijeka will contribute to the attractive and topical quality of the Salon. Dynamic supporting programme has been prepared with series of lectures, presentations, smaller topical exhibitions, a round table, symposium on memorial architecture, students' workshops…It includes appealing presentation of the group Škart at the opening night and during the Salon event. (The members of the Škart Group will present their work "Seesaw Ground", an imbalance testing ground. It is the work they represented Serbia with at the Biennial of Architecture in Venice in 2010). We would also like to bring to your attention the visiting exhibition "Italian Modern Architecture in Pula 1939-1940, Story about Peripheral Rationalism" as well as the round table and the students' workshop Docomomo Srbija.

The Jury of the 33rd Salon of Architecture Ljiljana Blagojević, Ana Džokić, Dejan Miletić, Jovan Sarić and Goran Vojvodić will decide on the Grand Prix from among the selected works, as well as on other awards for different categories: architecture, urban planning, interior design, experiment-exploration, publications and guest.

Curator to the Salon and editor of the catalogue is Ljiljana Miletić Abramović, MA, curator to the Architecture Department of the MAA.
