Experts agree that Charlotte Perriand is one of the most influential female creators of the 20th century and regardless of her gender acknowledge her work as of an artist who succeeded to authentically express the needs of modern society – in furniture design, interior design, in architecture and town planning. Several of these achievements which Perriand executed in 1927-1937 while she worked with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret are state of the art achievements in industrial design and are still being manufactured. Recent research proved that the role of Charlotte Perriand in creation of the French avant-garde art exceed by far the previous assessments of her work. She is also considered to be among the most important artists who built connections between the modern European and Japanese art. The presentation of the life and work of Charlotte Perriand will certainly convey to us the most important ideas and individuals which gave form to the 20th century art. This is a feature that gives additional quality to this exhibition.
